I noticed an odd spot within one of my polyacrylamide hydrogels. It looked like gel was missing from this spot and was down to the plastic. I zoomed in and noticed this and recorded it. What do you guys think?
Rachel Evans Short answer is Yes, but it really comes down to the nature of your experiment. For example, for material characterisation, you do not have to discard it, however if the experiment involves a long term cell-culture (>7 days), you better off throw it in the bin.
Iman Roohani Definitely for long term cell culture. Thanks for your help! If you don't mind me asking, do you know how this would have occurred? I'd like to prevent this from happening again, seeing as pretty much all of my work involves hydrogels and cell culture.
