Very good question that requires serious attention. I hold this notion based on my experiences with Cosmetics, Pharmaceutical, Petroleum and Vegetable Processing Wastewater that the Conductivity parameter of any Wastewater has direct bearing on the PH modifications, most especially alkalinity and acidity levels of the Wastewater on which other contaminants depends on. Consequently, ammonium nitrite and nitrates Concentrations will vary with same process water if their Conductivity is varied. Hence I do Recommend Conductivity shouldn't be ignored if possible as it goes along to help understand how the Alkalinity and acidity of the final solution changes with the PH window.

Conductivity may help to understand the SBR tank and may be an easy and simple method to monitor the nitrogen removal processes. In my experience this parameter is corelated with ammonium and inorganic nitrogen forms concentration and conductivity plots are parallel to the plots of analysed nitrogen forms (i.e. conductivity increase with N-NH4 concentration). When the ammonium ions are converted during the processes to nitrogen gas molecules then process performance could be followed by conductivity measurements. The relationship is strongly dependend of type of wastewater, and other compounds concentration, so the good way is to experimentaly compere changes in ammonium compounds concentrtation and conductivity for each reactor and wastwewater type.
Hi Anna I agree with your answer and I have the same trend result nh4-n and cond. But I am trying to find the best one that assured the cond phenomena in the SBR tank and their importance.
