I think it is very difficult to cover all thinks in condensed matter physics because this field is very very broad . it's covering materials science , semiconductor physics , physicals chemistry , superconductors , nanomaterials , solid state electronic and many more. so I think best thinks first we do learn basic rule of condensed matter physics by any famous book like( introduction of solid state physics by Charles Kittel ) and than find out in which filed you want to expertise.

when you decided field than you follow prestigious journal and experts in respected field . after some time you automatically gain good knowledge and commands on basics thinks and new research concepts in your fields .
