Dear Friends

I am comparing the buckling coefficients of the simply supported plate under shear forces obtained from theoretical solution and buckling analysis using abaqus.

In order to model shear forces in this plate, I apply some concentrated forces placed at all nodes along 4 edges (Each edge has 51 nodes) of this plate given in the attached file. After running buckling analysis, the mode shape is good. After that, I use the first mode shape to calculate the critical buckling load by using equation 2 in the attached file (calculation) and the get the buckling coefficient K(FEA) = 37.55

This value is totally different compare with the theoretical value (9.35).

Does any body know what the problem is?

Please give me some suggestions

Thank you so much
