In sewage sludge burning (21% O2) i was getting CO2 of 1.5% volume when i reduced oxygen level by filling sealed oven with nitrogen (15% O2) CO2 level increased to 3% volume why is this happening as i am reducing oxygen, CO2 should be low but in my case it is not? It might be due to the purity of nitrogen gas or leakage in side the furnace.
i was measuring CO2, CH4 and CO in the gas, All three increased in volume percent. I was maintaining the O2 level in the oven and it was 15%.

The following components carbon monoxide (CO), methane (CH4), hydrogen (H2), and water vapor (H2O) are always present in the surrogates. Carbon dioxide was also obtained by some previous studies.
