As most of us know that almost all the indexed journals will present their metrics in the above mentioned forms. With this regards, I'm wondering what exactly do they infer? Are they really essential while choosing a Journal? Do they play a crucial role in keeping & maintaining Journal's impact and standards?
Is SiteScore is considered as the Impact Factor of that Journal?

Specifically, i know that SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) helps one to determine if a journal is indexed in Scopus and the best quartile of that particular journal. It is therefore important to check whether a journal is indexed and whether it belongs to the top quartile or not before a paper is submitted. SCImago Journal Rank (SJR)is essential while choosing a Journal.

Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP) was created by Professor Henk Moed at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CTWS), University of Leiden. It measures contextual citation impact by weighting citations based on the total number of citations in a subject field, using Scopus data.
CiteScore measure the impact of journals by calculating the average number of citations per article over a period.
