Cite score is a similar indicator for calculating the average citation per published paper through the Scopus database; whereas, the Impact Factor (IF) was calculated through JCR (Journal citation report) by Web of Sciences (WoS) database.
I wonder about these two indicators (Cite score and Impact factor)! Which one is worthy of evaluating the paper quality? Some journals have high Cite scores but lower IF? Some have similar scores for both indicators. My question is why the Cite score and Impact factor of a journal varies? What are the criteria for these two citing indicators of a Journal?
I think an important question of you still needs to address " Which one is worthy of evaluating the paper quality?" My simple answer is neither of them! Both index uses a restricted database for a restricted time period (2 or 3 years) so they are rather an indicator of the "popularity" of the research topic than quality of the paper. This is why you never will see a paper describing 10 new potworm (Enchytraeidae) species in Nature or Science but can find papers describing a new dinosaur or hominid on just a couple of fragmentary bones. Is the latter Ms of better quality then the enchytraeid paper? Might be yes might be not but it does not depends on which journal it was published in.

as you mention the concept behind this two is the same but time is the one that makes this two be different in some cases, cite score is usually calculated based on data from the point journal begin to publish, but IF is usually have a shorter period of time usually 2 years or 1 year
Dear Aniruddha Sarker cite score and Impact factor are both calculated using almost the same criteria. Cite score is related to Scopus and is calculated based on the scopus database ( number of citations in Scopus). Whereas, Impact factor is related to Web of Science and is calculated based on WOS database (number of citations in WOS).
