Hello All,

I've been stuck at one point trying to figure out how a circular array works.

So, shown in the first figure is the antenna array that I have designed, where the center patch is probe fed and all the remaining elements that are arranged in a circular manner are fed by the transmission lines.

Shown in the second figure is the radiation pattern of the designed antenna, where the beam is broad at Phi= 0 deg and narrow at Phi=90 deg.

So, why does the radiation patterns are not similar when the number of array elements are equally arranged in both X and Y planes?

**(The array elements are number from 1 to 5)**

Is it due to the feed point location, which led to the insufficient current distribution to elements 3 and 5?

Thank You

Harinath
