We have been using 0.2% adenine on refined AIN-76A base diet to induce CKD in mice. The animals find the AIN-76A less palatable than the Envigo 2020X chow which is supplied by the vivarium. Their food intake significantly decreases and we are worried about the weight loss (observed even in the control mice on AIN-76A control chow).
I plan to switch the 0.2% adenine to use the Envigo 2020X base chow -- am interested to know if there are any concerns about switching between AIN-76A and 2020X ?
