Children are the most vulnerable and voiceless in our society. How can we address the issue of child abuse and let their voices be heard? Should a child leave home being a victim of extreme violence?
I agree with your concern. Children's safety issue has become a global scenario. We can't let our children to be the victims of some sadistic and perverted minds.
As of my understanding the people who do abuses are sick and suppressed in their life. They require psycho therapeutic treatment. Unless they are treated with professional care, we cannot guarantee the welfare of the society. Apart from mind's sickness, people's thinking pattern is also going haphazard towards pleasure. Increased rate of child pornography and child trafficking shows this. Whether it is the case of past life crisis or moral crisis of an individual/society - we are witnessing an enormous amount of break down in the unconscious inhibitions of mind, all over the world.
Child sexual abuse prevention researches talk about the importance of educating children about good touch and bad touch, how to avoid strangers, how to seek help from significant others, etc. YouTube also has cartoon videos to educate the children in this issue.
I cannot but agree with you that children are the most vulnerable and voiceless in our society.
As for the major causes of child abuse, I think of three main causes: (1) Children are fragile creatures and hence not capable of retaliating when they are hurt physically or psychologically; (2) The moral crisis that pervades all over the world; (3) Children are innocent and generally beautiful human beings. Of course, children should be heard and have a right to voice in all issues that are related to their daily lifes. Yes, a child should leave home when is a victim of extreme violence and be received, for example, by adoptive families or institutions of social solidarity. There is a Portuguese poet, Fernando Pessoa, that once claimed: Great is the poetry, the godness, and the dances, but the be best of the world are the children (crianças, in Portuguese language).
