Over the internet I have seen the following ways it was written:
OH (no dot)
OH. (dot in subscript position)
·OH (middle dot before OH)
OH· (middle dot after OH)
OH· (dot in superscript position, sorry i couldn't get it to display here)
Which is the official nomination out of all these, if not official than the most used or the one that chemistry experts have consensus upon?
It is rightly said that "Paper never refused ink", this is true for the internet as well. The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) is the mother of all nomenclature/ notation rules. As per their suggestion, the dot is placed on the atom with highest spin density (having the largest number of unpaired electrons). As per their list hydroxyl radical is HO.
