I'm very new in Staphylococcal cloning. As far as I understood after going through Monk et. al., TJ Foster et. al. papers, that S aureus strain RN 4220 can modify the DNA for different Staphylococcal transformation. So, is it possible to transform S. lugdunennsis strains too after passaging the plasmids through S. aureus RN 4220? Also, E coli strain DC10B can only bypass Type IV restriction system, but is still able to transfrom into MRSA 252 strain 10^3 (Monk and Foster 2012). So is it also possible to transform S lugdunensis like this? or a E. coli PAM strain is mandatory? Thank you for your views in advance.
