Databases to check: PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES, Medline, Health Source: Academic Edition. There is a lot of literature on the issue. Seems a little broad. Is there a particular population you are interested in? (e.g., efficacy of cbt for depression in... adult males/females, adolescents, men with chronic illness... etc.)

I think you should be able to find plenty of information for your research, but as Joshua mentioned, narrowing down your topic to something more specific will actually help you in the long run. Are you conducting a qualitative or quantitative research study? There are so many directions you could take with CBT and Depression. It seems like an excellent time to be researching a topic that has gained much rigor over the past few years with more and more people seeking help for Depression.

In addition to the resources mentioned by Francisco and Josh, here are a few other you might want to add to your list: NIMH (The National Institute of Mental Health), EBSCOhost Database, ERIC, Science Direct, Social Psychology Network (http://SocialPsychology.org) , ProQuest Dissertation and Thesis Database (PQDT), and SCIRUS Comprehensive Science Research Tool.

I see Francisco referred to the APA already, but I wanted to add that throughout your research if you ever find yourself needing advice, I would definitely recommend looking to one of the professional associations in your field (i.e. APA, ACA). They typically offer references and resources on their websites and links to affiliated sources.

Thanx all...the above given info would definitely help me so far as the data base is concerned...since my research area is kashmir and the depression rate there is very high becoz of the ongoing turmoil...this is an atempt to heal the wounds and to introduce a new modality of treatmnt other than pharmacotherapy.As far as my research design is concerned,my research sample is 50 and i have divided the sample into 2 age groups,20-35 and36-40...further the sample is divided into 2 groups on the basis of gender,locale and education i;e 25/25....although i am done with my data collection,i would still ask for more inputs from you people...

Hey peter.....thanx a ton.....just to tell u that i have taken 50 clinically depressed patients from a hospital in kashmir...i dont have any control group in my study,its purely a repeated measure design....i have gone through the literature and i find that many studies of the same nature have a sample size less than mine.....anywaz thank you.......
