I would like to measure CO2 noninvasively in healthy individuals during stressful situations (performing in front of an audience) for about 30 minutes (it is a study in the domain of psychobiology and not medicine). I am wondering whether I should use capnography (e.g. capnostream 35 with nasal canula) or transcutaneous CO2 (e.g. with TOSCA TCM4 by Radiometer with sensor at the earlobe). What would you say are the advantages and disadvantages of each approach? Is one of the two generally considered superior in terms of validity/reliability?
