Most research deals with Aviation English but I am looking for research done about ATC communications in other languages used for non international aviation.
Hello. Check this link and search for research authored by Veronika Prinzo of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. She was a colleague of mine who specialized in ATC communication, and did studies with non-English-speaking comminunication.
Suggest looking at the work done by Dr Mica Endsley in the 1990's in cognitive processing. From what I recall now, I believe her work for her PhD (or soon after) was applied directly to the Air Traffic Control environment. Concurrently I was looking into cognitive processing by pilots in a similar operational scenario and found her work very much to the point. I won't refer you to me papers on this as they weren't focused on ATC but on modal awareness issues for modern aircraft cockpits, which is in part a human-machine interaction issue and in part operational recall of technical training.
