I am looking for a model for modeling the effects of varied forest management regimes on carbon dynamics under climate change. If this model take the satellite derived indices (such as NDVI) as input parameters, that would be great.
Our study area is mountainous and dominated by naturally regenerated oak trees (mainly Quercus Brantii) and the stand structure is mostly coppice form.
The reason that I am interested in satellite data is we don't have enough previous inventoried data, but the remote sensing data (like Landsat images) are available.

You can use the NASA-CASA global carbon model. There are several paper on net just use CASA carbon model as keywords. You need NDVI time series, land use cover data based on USGS scheme. Soil data, temperature and precipation data etc...

As I said before, the input parameters are remote sensing derived indices. The dependent is above ground carbon stored in trees and shrubs.

A nonlinear mathematical model might be useful for forest management regime through the study along with effect of increased carbon dioxide concentration on plant growth.

I never thought you might answer my question. I know you works and I know your model (JABOWA) and i used it was based on command prompt. Now that I checked, you have developed a new version for WIN7. But, I don't know if I can run this model based on Landsat derived indices as input data for forest stands attributes.
The input to the model is individual trees identified by species and size. I don't know how, off hand, you would create that from Landsat data.
However, you might also be interested in this paper, in which we did the first attempt to use Landsat to study forest ecology. I can send you a copy if you would like.

You can try to use the CO2FIX model. In this paper we used it under climate change conditions.

i use CBM-CFS3 (Kurz et al., 2009) (http://www.nrcan.gc.ca/forests/climate-change/13107). It has a large variety of species and you might find the right oak species. If not, pick the closest in order to get the right coefficients to convert from yield to biomass. You will need to have some growth and yield curves for the inventory depicted by the satellite and some transition rules to explore the variety of management strategies you need. This tool is free.
