Specially cases in which it was used in a single course, Is there a good and free internet platform that you can recommend?
Mostly we've been using Wordpress.com or Blogspot, sometimes also Elgg (we have developed our own competence-based portfolio plugin for Elgg. Curerntly we are working on a new portfolio plugin for Drupal, which is another open-source content management tool. Have you tried Mahara?

Stellenbosch University is starting to use Mahara to compile E-portfolios.

UNE has an eportfolio space for all students on Mahara. The issue with this is that students cannot readily take it with them when they finish. e-portfolios have been a unit within the Bachelor of Education, allowing students to demonstrate their competence in the teaching standards. Many students use google sites or Wix.

hello, we have experience from 97 to portfolios especially in monitoring initial teacher training in external practices outside the university centers. We've changed a lot, right now we use a distributed open environment of tools: eportfolio federated of Gtea (http://gteavirtual.org)

Hi, i am currently implementing Eportfolio on otolaryngology residents. I created a web page i personally design (for each student) at google sites, you can also create a blog. The drawbacks of using an already created portfolio are: larger time spent, technical demands of each software and the issue of privacy (since some eportfolios can publish your results). I beleive in the reflective nature of eportfolio instead of a pure sumative approach. I find an increase in my residents´motivation and involvement in their own learning.

We are using an interactive methodology for portfolio assessment. It combines social networks and the normal epithelial systems (a modified version Mahara in our case). We valued the mutual feedback process as a formative way to promote learning and more flat relations between teachers and students.
I am using the coursenetworking. It is a social networking e-Portfolio that provide you a better instruction and interaction.
I have tried one course, and it is successfully done.
However, it depends on you... Because for me instead of having an evidence-based, I prefered the students to be connected at anytime and anywhere.
