I've read Song's essay "Challenging a Culture of Racial Equivalence" (2013) and am working on how I might use it in a current project on the novel To Kill a Mockingbird.

I'd welcome any recommendations for further reading, particularly any responses to Song's distinction between racialization and racism and to her call, at the end of the essay, to explore important questions about motivation, historical context, etc. when discussing whether or not an individual act is or is not racist.
