My advice is that traditional approaches to agricultural challenges has resulted in further unintended consequences worsening the plight of farmers. There is a new approach, "Systems thinking", which has been integrated into early adopters education curriculum in the USA, Germany, Vietnam, Australia, etc which emphasized that we leave in a complex web and there are relationships and inter-connectivity among component entities within the complex system. Thus altering one component go along way to affect other component which have a global impact.
So please there are many publications on Systems thinking approach to agricultural development. Perhaps, trainees knowledge in this approach will cause tremendous change to how they will deal with the root cause of agricultural challenges other than symptoms which is characteristic of the traditional approach.
