I am trying to learn and understand the mechanisms involved in receptor-mediated killing of bacterial cells by some peptides. I have these peptides conjugated with a fluorophore for other purposes, but I have read that many fluorescence properties change when interacting with membranes and/or receptors.

e.g. fluorescence polarization immunoassay and other anisotropy measurements, time-resolved fluorescence etc.

Can I use any of these techniques using whole cells in suspension? Any literature on this?
