Here, I attached one method published for vitamin C determination, in generally Iodine solution used, but here, they use KI & KIO3? How to calculate I2 mol in here without standerdization or titration with Na2S2O3 solution?
The KIO3 primary standard solution can be titrated without presence of starch solution,
Titrate the sample with the 0.002 mol L−1 potassium iodate solution. The endpoint of the titration is the first permanent trace of a dark blue-black colour due to the starch-iodine complex.Calculate the average volume of iodate solution used from your concordant titres. Calculate the moles of iodate that reacted forming iodine.
subst. weighed of ascorbic acid (standard, 99,9% for example) can be analyzed by titration with KJO3 in the presence of KJ (V1, ml) : titre T=m (AA)/(V1-V2). V2 - without of ascorbic acid, ml (KJO3). Your of result titration of unknown content of ascorbic acid sample = T (V -V2).
