the first thing needed is true eye contact. Currently, the only way to simulate eye contact is for one person to look directly at their camera and the other to look at the image of the person on the screen, and then trade. The "camera" needs to be in the middle of the other person's eye -- or adjust for this.

this is an interesting request. The value of collaborative working within teams in that capacity to enter into discussions from each individual's experiential perspective around a key problem to arrive at unique approaches to each challenge. That being said, if the team has to deal with non routine issues, the require a high degree of interdependency, and require complex decision making AI approaches are not likely to work. Hence, studying the interface will be difficult. However, if the team deals with routine issues and require similar approaches across each other's perspectives and require more common outcomes then AI could be used.
