Is there anything in the media that can act as carbon source for E.coli. myo-inositol is one but its concentration is very less.
You could add pure glucose to the Yeast nitrogen base w/o AS to add a carbon source and it would be still a minimal medium.
Did this answer help ?
It worked. But i am getting backgroud colonies in plate where there is only YNB and no carbon source. So, i think there is some carbon source in YNB that is helping the cells to grow, may be myo-inositol. Anyway the growth is very slow.
You could design the medium composition yourself and just leave out inositol or citric acid to see if the colonies will still grow on this new medium.
Yes! thats what is going on.
Ok great. Good luck!
Instead of checking only the mRNA level, I want to check the active protein level of MMP-1 in Liver tissue from mice. How can I do that?
