Can we use degenerative Taqman probe for a detection based qPCR assay?

I am looking for standardising a Taqman qPCR assay for detection purpose from various matrices. My query is whether, we can use degenerative probe sequences for the same? Do degenerative probe sequences generate reliable and reproducible results?
