Can we use constructs derived independently from different source of literature to develop a model and test the model through survey design?
I am undertaking research on Organisational Performance (DV). From the different sources of literature, I have identified several factors (IVs - e.g. innovation, leadership etc) that would influence Organisational Performance. I would like to develop a model on these factors that would influence Organisational Performance. That factors include Moderating and Mediating factors that would influence Organisational Performance.
Can we also test if a particular construct to be Mediating (for e.g. employee engagement) or Moderating Variable (for e.g. strategy and structure) that would affect Organisational Performance, when the same variables are mentioned in the literature as the IVs?
