I was thinking to design a four probe resistance measurement device. However, I was curious about whether we can use a Gamry Potentiostat to measure the electrical conductivity of some solid or surface using 4 electrode configuration?
i.e. connecting Working electrode and Counter electrode to the outer needles of 4 probe setup, and attaching the working sense and reference electrodes to inner two needles of 4 probe setup?
Does anyone of you have any experience in it?

Thank you! Sir Jalal. So fundamentally, there is no difference in using Gamry instrument for electrochemical or non-electrochemical measurements? Do you have some practical experience in this regard?
Dear Hashim,
in general, the impedance measurements (Gamry instrument I assume) are far more general than approximate 4 probe dc measurements. In fact, the 4 probe dc resistance measurement is just a single point on the frequency dependent curve of the the real part of the measured impedance (for w->0). So, I would always trust more the impedance measurement than the dc measurement.

Hello @Hashim, I am curious about the same, where you able to use the setup for conductivity measurement with non-electrochemical systems?
I think theoretically we can by running the voltammetry and then crunching the obtained data in excel. I wanted to measure but it was very difficult to make a nice 4 probe device due to lack of machining facilities.
