Can we use 13-15 weeks old male wistar rats to induce type 2 diabetes? Any pros and cons?

I will be using high-fat diet and STZ for inducing diabetes.

It depends on what you are going to study on it with type 2 diabetic model. According to me, may be It is too late (due to aging). But go with very low STZ if it can be done.
