We all know that we usually use some strategies to check the credibility and trustworthiness of qualitative research designs. The question here, is it fair enough to utilize a thick description strategy to do so?
The trustworthiness of qualitative research can be enhanced in several ways. Thick description in one of these ways. However, merely relying on thick description may not be useful. Other strategies include member checking, reflexivity, data, methods, or researcher triangulation, robust and comprehensive data analysis, prolonged engagement with the research participants, adequate length of the qualitative interviews/ focus groups, and audit trail.
Yes, Prof Luqman M Rababah, I agree with Ahtisham Younas that it is part of what is necessary and that some, if not all, of the other strategies he mentioned are also necessary.
