From a historical perspective, meta-analysis approach has been appreciated. It applies scientific formulas and can be used with any number of studies conducted in larger geographical regions of the world. Importantly, comprehensive meta-analysis summarizes the body of evidence on a specific question. Increasingly, this approach is replacing the traditional narrative review. Under this condition, the meta-analysis can help identify which questions have already been answered and which remain to be answered. Thus, I would say why not, we can make a policy recommendation based on meta-analysis.
