For a pure virus, HA can be considered as a way of representing their titre. even though it is cost effective and less labor intensive, it is less concerned. Kindly guide me in this matter.
HA should not be used to titer dengue virus. You can perform viral plaque assays in Vero cells, rt-PCR (compared with a know viral standard), or you can perform a focus forming unit assay. Some labs use HI but is will only give you a rough estimate of virus. When we have titrated virus by plaque assay and compared it with HA, the results have always been off by at least 1 log in either direction depending on serotype.
