I was wondering if there are free access to data for plasma physics online which can be analyzed and further work with it computationally as well. I'd glad if anyone could mention possible project ideas for undergraduates related to plasma physics.
One of the most interesting research topics is the "Plasma Focus".
A free simulation software, Excel VBA, is available for free in the website:
https://www.plasmafocus.net/
It contains free Excel VBA simulation files in comparison with real experimental data of Plasma Focus (PF) devices which you can use. There are full discussion of the model, possibility of using the model files and changing the input parameters to learn how to manipulate the results.
Also, there are another part about the variation of the specific heat ratio and effective charge state as a function of plasma temperature depending Corona model. This model is included in the PF model, and also can be studied separately. The model files are also available for free in the website.
Most of the reputed journals provide access to data and metadata to readers for continued investigations. Even a key word-search would lead to the data.
There are different atomic database available online you can access it or you can follow publications that experimentally measures the atomic data of various plasma's. But the atomic data which is obtained experimentally is kept closed for internal laboratory applications only.
