Assume I want to use a polymer as Hole Transport Layer.
Polymers with aromatic rings such as PolyTPD and TFB should be particularly sensitive to UV absorption.
Is the UV-Ozone treatment a good idea in order to improve wettability of such materials or I risk to alter the interface too much, maybe creating a "wall" against charge (holes) transport?

Regarding UV-ozone interaction with polymers, it very much depends on the process and the chemical structure of the to-be-oxidized material.
In my understanding, there might be a risk of performing such oxidation due to the free radical evolution, which subsequently may oxidatively crosslink the polymer. This may lead then to a more chaotic structure (possible to track with IR spectroscopy) and possibly unwanted properties of the polymer.

In terms of improving the wettability, it should definitely help. What is the polymer attached too? What is the desired application... i.e., the hole transport layer will be interfaced with what? There may be other solutions to improve performance.
My suggestion would be to use the minimum exposure time to provide the desired wettability. We find with CNT-based materials, and polymers attached onto these materials the improved hydrophilicity after UV-Ozone treatment is temporary.
Maybe check non-thermal plasma treatments.
