After the milling of rice the by product /waste Ash has been genrated , I want to know can we use this ash in agriculture soil, whether it is usefull or not for soil health.
We did analyse the contents of waste/ash generated and find that it still rich in minerals including zinc, a nutrient of soil. Soil testing needs to be done first in the area involved and then one can try ash if it helps strengthen the richness of soil required for a particular crop
ya definitely, we can use rice hull ash as an amendment for acid soils and its rich in silicon. now a days silicon is recognized as agronomically beneficial elements and widely used for rice production. For more information, contact Dr.N.B.Prakash, Associate professor, Dept.Soil Science and Agrl.Chemistry,UAS, Bangalore, who has done more works on rice hull ash in rice and finger millet.
I've heard good things about vermicomposting rice ash and there are several large scale operations for doing so. See the article below for a good jumping off point.
