Can the estimated multinomial model coefficients be in 100s or 1000s logically?

I am trying to create multinomial logit models in R. The coefficients generated come in thousands. How does one work with this? What are the necessary steps or explanations one can give to justify the results.

Can only categorical dependent variables be a reason?

or the choice data being constrained to specific choice be the reason?
