My study : effect of mixed land use on quality of life. I am taking 10 areas in the city with different amount and kind of mixed landuses and calculating an index for mixed landuse. Mixed landuse is the independent variable. (external factors like density, location etc are also into play and will be treated as separate independent variable) I want to compute quality of life index for all those areas by taking people's satisfaction survey on a 7 point likert scale ( 30 samples from each area). Later I want to run a spearman rank co-relation to check.
But can I measure Quality of Life of people and use it without informing the people about mixed landuses? suggest me some reference of casual research from the field of urban environment/ urban planning.

To some extent, land use depends on land cover, i.e. relief, natural drainage, forest cover, soil quality etc.
In geography, we crudely measure the quality of life by
1. putting weightage on different municipal amenities enjoyed by the respondent
2.level of satisfaction achieved by the respondent on different aspects
3. level of income - expenditure
4. level of education etc.
all these can be measured without reference of land cover and land use.
But either directly or indirectly all the above mentioned aspects are dependent on landuse and land cover.

In my idea it is better you include all stakeholders (users, managers, land owners, and so ...)....
I'm not fully sure to understand what you exatly mean. If I well understood than you want you would like to explain quality of life with mixed land use. In this case , in a complex model you can express quality of life as a latent or composed variable which you express with education, earning or housing size etc.

in my opinion, you need to more accurately determine what you mean. If you are interested in the relationship between mixed land use and other factors, then it is better to use correlation analysis. But keep in mind that the correlation analysis shows a static relationship between the values between the values (the relationship between the average levels of the values). If you want to study cause-effect relationships, then it is best to use contingency tables and factor analysis.
As far as I understand from your question, you are going to co- relate quality of life with some independent vaiarbles like mixead land use, density, location and so. If that so, you can go for co- relation analysis like (Pearson test) to identify the co- relations among the independent variables itself as well as with dependent varible leading to regression analysis. Regression will assist you to identify which independent factors actually affect the dependent one and also the degree of dependency. You can also try the concept of " hedonic pricing approach" as a supporting mean.
