the recipients must be health, otherwise lower birth rate will be predicted.

The embryo recipient should have a routine preconception work-up.  Disease testing will depend on the patient's medical history and physical exam.  You could look at the ACOG Practice Committee report: The Importance of Preconception Care in the Continuum of Women's Health Care.

I do agree with Erma, as the maternal health should be opitimized before planing for pregnancy,as any pre-exicting condition my impair implantation and will increase miscarriage rates if implanted.
