I am conducting some researches to identify symptom patterns in mental disorders. I would like to have some meta-analysis or seminal papers on the topic.
The topic is so vast that you need to do your own literature searching.
Network analysis has taken off looking at symptom patterns in mental disorders, and you will need to read not just the papers but also the recent critiques of the methodology.
There is literally so much literature that you will have to start by coning in on a disorder of particular interest.

Thank you all for all the answers. Actually my question isn’t very clear and within the next few days I will update it basing also on the literature review that I did. However, I was mainly referring to the qualitative variance of the mental illness symptoms e.g. shifting from anorexia to obesity or from a DSM disease to another. Specifically this question is aimed at evaluating the dynamic part of a mental disease, trying to understand if symptoms are really a good proxy variable to understand and evaluate a mental disease. I don’t know if this quick note clarifies better the point, but I will be more precise within few days.
