Can someone please explain why the reading of DCPIP dye is taken at different wavelength and its exact protocol for bioremediation?

Can we use DCPIP (2,6-Dichloro Phenol Indophenol) reduction for quantification of crude oil degradation using fungal isolates? can someone provide with a detailed protocol for the same? Some papers that I referred to, took the OD of finalized samples at 420nm while others at 600nm. What is the difference and what wavelength should I consider for my experiments?
