I want to measure the difference between two histograms and to say if they are significantly different or not. I have found that the 'non-intersection distance between histograms' represents well the similarity of two histograms, but I don't know how to analyze the significance of this measure or how to define a threshold for accepting that the histograms are different. In the histograms I have the percent of pixels of different land covers in two regions, so the objective is to say if those regions are the same (in terms of land cover) or not. Does anyone have any idea?
