I have collected egg masses of rice yellow stem borer, Scirpophaga incertulas for my future experiment. How long can we preserve egg mass in refrigeration? Can they be stored indefinitely in refrigeration?
With proper storage conditions, eggs can last for at least 3 to 5 weeks in the fridge and approximately 12 months in the freezer. However, it is worthy to note that the longer egg is stored, the more it declines in quality, making it less springy and more runny.
