I want to explore the mRNA expression level of certain genes in the brain under physiological and pathological conditions. In previous studies, the researchers usually isolated the mRNA and quantified the expression level with RT-PCR. However, with this approach, the spatial information of gene expression is lost. Therefore, I want to know whether I can use RNAscope to quantify the mRNA expression level of certain genes in brain slices. Is there any literatures used RNAscope to quantify the mRNA expression level ?
