I understand that the terms "neuropsychiatry" is often an umbrella term in European psychiatry based on traditions in several countries. In the USA, there is a Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and when I did the board exams in the early 1990s, one third of the written exam was in neurology. I am trying to sort out the various uses of the term neuropsychiatry in different era and medical cultures to have a more historically-informed view of how we are using the terms "neuropsychiatry" and "neuroscience" today.
