I know that commonly random vibration analysis is performed as implicit analysis and uses modal superposition method, but can it be performed as explicit analysis? How can we do that? and what are the pros and cons relative to implicit analysis? Any cited sources would be greatly appreaciated

I agree with Mohamed; Bathe is an excellent book to reference. The short answer is implicit will provide far more accurate solutions than explicit for vibration problems in the time domain. Yes, explicit is faster but you give up accuracy, which is well described in Bathe's. Another excellent book is by Petyt: Introduction to Finite Element Vibration Analysis. The book is good FEM reference for force vibrations including random. Good luck!
Why don't you try to see the problem also from the real testing side?
