Due to stretching effect, the coefficient of the non-linear term (arising due to the stretching effect) is getting very large. In some paper radius of gyration is used to nondimensionalise the equation of motion. I'm wondering is the same method could be used for thin beams (rectangular section). The method used is attached herewith.

Could you elaborate a little bit more, as you have no control over equation of motion internally being developed by abaqus
