In our lab, PEG 8000 is available. Can it be used for yeast transformation instead of PEG 3350?
And if so, how much %(w/v) of PEG 8000 can I use?

I have used it. 50% is fine. But I stopped using it because its very viscous and difficult to handle. Now I am using 50% of 3350 one.
Literature say that you can use PEG of relatively less MW around 4000. But why not to give it a try of using PEG 8000 and reporting it that it works as normal when dealing with Yeast transformation.
