Dear All, I have identified a putative male sterile line in okra(Abelmoschus esculentus- through wide hybridization) (confirmed sterility with crossing/ selfing/ pollen studies). In order to perpetuate it to next generation, I want to try its propagation through stem or internodal cuttings. The plant is about to die as its already 7 1/2 months old. I don't have any flowers or flower bud left on the plant. No fruit/seed set upon selfing or crossing with different male lines and tried mixed pollen also, no result of fruit set. Kindly help me any literature how to proceed further and forward this male sterile plant to next generation.
