We are doing MRI of mouse spinal cord after injecting it with lysolecithin to induce MS like symptoms. We want to have TEM images as well. But if we want to do MRI, they kill the animal with high dosage of ketamine+xylazine and then perform MRI which takes around 2 hours for our protocol. As far as I have come to know, to fix the tissues of the animal for TEM imaging, collecting tissue has to be very quick, meaning the animal has to be alive. Can we still fix the tissues of the animal even if it is already been dead for 2 hours and get good TEM images?
