Can I use Trypan blue or anyother stain instead of Nitrotetrazolium Blue chloride in Anchorage independent technique assay?

in last step of anchorage independent assay, we required to use

Nitrotetrazolium Blue chloride to stain the colonies

so can we use any cheap and easy to use stain other than

Nitrotetrazolium Blue chloride

Hi Moustafa, as far as I can tell both stains are commonly used to assess cell viability.

Also both dyes are cell impermeable.
