You certainly could use thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006), since it applies to just about any kind of qualitative data.

But if you are doing mixed methods research, it would be desirable to have a stronger form of integration between your quantitative results and your qualitative data. In particular, you could consider a "sequential explanatory design" (QUANT --> qual) where you first produce the quantitative results and then use the qualitative data to help understand those results.

In triangulation methods of research, thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006) could be used to analysed for open-ended questions of a structured questionnaire where it is being used to support and verify the quantitative questions.

you surely can use it. Any textual data can be subject to thematic analysis. This is a very inclusive term. As long as you try to reduce the text to a few topics or themes following your research questions, you are doing thematic text analysis. Certainly, you may use a thematic approach, otherwise, as these answers would be difficult to confine to a binary or Likert scale, this would be the best way to analyze them, in my opinion. I would suggest you determine the themes from you research questions the open ended questions address in your questionnaire as a starting point to analyze them first into categories then into themes and sub themes.

I agree with my colleagues, yes you can use TA , but if you have quali and quanti analysis I would suggest you what professor Morgan describes, to use quanti -> quali approach.

You can run your quanti data and based on groups, clusters, or results, you can build a data to be analyzed in Iramuteq, for example, that can give you classes and a chi-square comparing groups which could be very interesting.
