we are going to make segregating population of tea plant (camellia sinensis) for genetic research.
we need 200 progenies.
Can we use aneuploid cultivar as one of the parents to cross it with diploid or it is not suitable?

The behaviour of the recombination events of plant chromosomes is so mysterious. Hence, in my opinion definitely you should try to use aneuploid parents in crossing programme. Similar type of study Guava (Psidium guajava) have given positive result (refer the attached file).
Yes, aneuploids can be used in crossing, and they can be quite useful for locating linkage groups affecting various traits.
Because aneuploids have a chromosome number that is not an exact multiple of the monoploid number, they can be used for various types of genetic analyses. For example, consider a primary trisomic where there are 3 copies of one of the chromosomes (2n + 1 chromosomes). The result of using this individual in a cross is that the segregation ratios for any traits located on the trisomic chromosome will deviate from the expected 2n segregation ratios. There are many different types of aneuploids - 2n+1, 2n+2, 2n +1+1, 2n-1, 2n-1+1, etc, along with the various isochromosome where one arm is duplicated. But, all of these various forms will distort the segregation ratios for the affected chromosome or chromosome arm.
Scientific investigations becoming satisfying when results add value to knowledge. In this context, yes, aneuploids can be used so long as you know where the experiment commenced i.e. aneuploids were used and can be tracked along the lineage ensuing during the crossing (hybridization). Further, natural hybridization has acted as pioneer in this regard. Also, concur with Randall (above) on the aneuploids significances. Wish you the interesting observations.
